Privacy at a glance

Magic SMS needs access to messages, contacts, media, and related device features to work as an SMS and MMS app. Message content and attachments are processed on your device and are transmitted only when you choose to send them through Android, your mobile carrier, or another service you select.

The app also uses advertising, analytics, configuration, crash-reporting, billing, and attribution services. Those providers may process identifiers, app interactions, diagnostics, approximate location derived from an IP address, and device information as described below.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Snug Apps ("Snug Apps," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in the Magic SMS Android application ("App") and at snugapps.mobi ("Website").

It should be read together with any permission prompts, consent messages, and the Google Play Data safety disclosure shown for the App.

2. Information used for messaging features

The App may request access to the following information or device capabilities when needed:

  • SMS and MMS: to display, receive, organize, search, block, schedule, and send messages as your selected SMS application.
  • Contacts and phone information: to show names and photos, select recipients, support group conversations, and identify SIM or calling capabilities.
  • Photos, videos, audio, files, camera, and microphone: to let you create or attach media that you choose to send.
  • Location: to let you attach a location to a message when you actively use that feature.
  • Notifications, alarms, foreground services, and boot status: to receive messages, show notifications, and deliver scheduled messages.

These permissions do not mean that Snug Apps uploads your message history, contacts, photos, recordings, or precise location to its own servers. The App processes this content locally for its messaging functions. When you send a message or attachment, the selected content is transmitted to the intended recipient through Android, your carrier, or the service you choose.

If you choose to send a contact card, location, photo, video, audio recording, file, SMS, or MMS, the selected information is shared with the recipient or recipients you choose. Phone numbers may also be visible to recipients or carriers as required to route individual or group messages.

We do not ask you to provide racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, genetic or biometric data, health information, sexual orientation, or similar sensitive categories for analytics or advertising. Your private messages may contain information you choose to write, but Snug Apps does not inspect or upload that message content to its own servers.

3. Information processed by service providers

Depending on your device, region, consent choices, and how you use the App, our service providers may automatically process:

  • IP address and approximate location derived from it;
  • advertising ID, app set ID, Firebase installation ID, and similar device or app identifiers;
  • device model, operating system, language, network, and app version;
  • app launches, taps, ad interactions, purchases, and other product interactions;
  • crash logs, diagnostics, performance information, and configuration data.

We use this information to operate the App, detect crashes and abuse, understand feature performance, configure the App, provide purchases, measure installs, and show or measure advertising.

This information may be collected automatically by the App or its SDKs, provided voluntarily when you contact us, or received from Google Play and other service providers involved in a purchase, installation, advertisement, or support request.

If information that does not identify you is combined with information that can reasonably identify you, we treat the combined information as personal information.

5. Advertising and privacy choices

The free version of the App may display ads. Advertising providers may use device identifiers and activity information to select, deliver, limit, personalize, and measure ads, prevent fraud, and produce aggregated reporting.

Where required, the App or an advertising provider may ask for consent before using information for personalized advertising. You can also reset or delete your Android advertising ID, control ad personalization, and manage privacy choices through your device and Google settings. Choosing limited or non-personalized ads does not necessarily remove advertising.

We do not sell message content or contact lists. Certain advertising disclosures may legally be described as "sharing" for targeted advertising under some privacy laws.

6. Purchases

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Google Play. We receive transaction status and product information needed to unlock paid features, but we do not receive your full payment-card details.

7. Website data

The Website is a static product website and does not include our own analytics, advertising trackers, account system, or contact form. Our hosting and network providers may process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamps, and security logs to deliver and protect the Website.

8. Retention

Messages and other local content remain on your device until you delete them, uninstall the App, clear App data, or Android removes them. Content sent by SMS or MMS may also be retained by recipients and mobile carriers under their own practices.

Service providers retain analytics, advertising, installation, purchase, and diagnostic data according to their own policies and our configured settings. If you email us, we retain the correspondence only as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain records, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations.

You may request deletion of personal information under Snug Apps' control by emailing [email protected]. We cannot remotely delete messages or attachments stored only on your device, and information controlled independently by recipients, mobile carriers, Google, or advertising providers is subject to their deletion tools and policies.

9. Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information. No application, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Network transmissions between the App and Firebase, Google Play, advertising providers, or other service endpoints use HTTPS, TLS, or provider-supported secure connections where available. SMS and MMS delivery through mobile carriers follows the carrier's own transmission and security practices, which may provide different protections.

If we become aware of a security incident involving personal information under our control, we will investigate and provide notice to affected users or authorities when required by applicable law.

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their privacy policies describe the safeguards and legal mechanisms they use for international transfers.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a portable copy of certain personal information. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.

You can manage App permissions in Android settings, control advertising identifiers and personalization in Google settings, manage subscriptions in Google Play, delete local message data in the App or Android, and contact us about a privacy request.

Some data is controlled directly by Google or an advertising provider. We may direct you to that provider when it is the party able to complete your request.

European Economic Area, Switzerland, and United Kingdom

Where applicable, processing may rely on your consent, performance of a contract with you, compliance with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in operating, securing, debugging, and improving the App. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

United States state privacy rights

Residents of California and other states with applicable privacy laws may have rights to know about, access, correct, or delete personal information and to opt out of certain sharing or targeted advertising. We do not sell message content or contact lists. To submit a request, use the contact address below.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may also be required to provide proof of authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

11. Children

Magic SMS is a general-audience communication utility and is not directed to children under 13 in the United States or under the minimum age required by applicable local law. We do not knowingly collect message content or contact lists from children on our own servers. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided personal information directly to us may contact us to request review or deletion.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, our providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest version. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice in the App, through Google Play, or by another appropriate method and obtain consent where required by applicable law.

13. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
